Everyday Objects Lab was founded in 2019 by a group of design researchers, anthropologists, and material culture enthusiasts who shared a common frustration: the speed of contemporary life was eroding our ability to notice the objects that surround us.

We started with a simple premise — that paying attention to everyday objects could be a form of meditation, a practice of presence, and a path toward more sustainable relationships with the material world.

What began as informal workshops in East London has grown into a comprehensive program serving thousands of participants across the UK and Europe. But our core mission remains unchanged: to slow down, notice, and appreciate the objects that shape our daily lives.

Our Philosophy

We believe that mindful attention to everyday objects can transform our relationship with the material world. By slowing down and noticing, we cultivate appreciation, reduce waste, and find unexpected beauty in the mundane.

Our programs are grounded in observation, documentation, and reflection — practices that anyone can adopt, regardless of background or expertise.
